The US attorney said Falaschi was responsible for stealing somewhere between $1.5 million and $3.5 million worth of water. Falaschi's plea agreement claims he's responsible for stealing only a fraction of the original $25 million prosecutors accused him of taking in the original indictment. And should the permanent corporate tax cuts in that bill be kept in place even as it has become clear how little these business goodies have done for the economy? Worse, the Trump tax package will exacerbate a fiscal crisis for programs like Social Security and Medicare that are highly popular, including among Republicans.

Ukraine requested Javelins and Stingers before the full-scale war began when Russia invaded Ukraine in February of 2022. After the battle of Kyiv was won, Ukraine requested MiG-29s, which Poland agreed to provide in exchange for Western fighters. Ukraine requested Abrams tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles for trench warfare in the east. During the Cold War, nuclear threats were not uncommon, but the US didn’t keep them from advancing its foreign policy interests.

And among those watching most closely are world leaders near and far. Of course, world leaders have generally stayed mum on the issue of which man they prefer – although I would wager that most favor the status quo over a return to the raucous years of Trump’s presidency. Some world leaders have already signaled their aversion to another Trump presidency. But for these foreign leaders, coming out against Trump is a move that is chock full of risks. The stakes in this election are too high for global leaders to stay mum.

Gold prices slipped for a second consecutive session on Thursday as the U.S. dollar and Treasury yields edged higher ahead of key inflation data, which could offer further clarity on the Federal Reserve's interest rate plan. "I think it's a case of investors realizing that the current high interest rate environment is likely to have an extended stay. And with the focus again turning to chasing U.S. yields and dollar, some attention is taken away from gold this week," said Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade. While bullion is considered an inflation hedge, higher rates increase the opportunity cost of holding the non-yielding asset.
